Voortman built the CNC Beam Drill Line only for GSS Machinery. Voortman manages the installation, warranty, service and maintenance of the CNC Beam Drill Line. Voortman is the service provider. GSS Machinery is available to help if needed.
Auto Standoff - This is a surface standoff, and should not be confused in any way with vector standoff using 5-axis mode. Auto stand-off will adjust vertically according to the angle of "A" Axis. There are five (5) axis that are considered during calculations. The machine can be controlled manually using buttons on its screen to make the vector standoff change.

Voortman’s roller feed measurement system exceeds industry standard. It is important to maintain accurate measurements without hesitation during production. Even though there may be slight deviations in the material, accuracy should not be compromised.
The Franklin HD145 (3) spindle CNC drill, with 44-inch width capacity. The HD-145 handles beams up to 750 lbs per foot. The hi-performance spindle design provides drilling capabilities up to 2,000 RPM. This rigid design provides extremely aggressive feed rates up to 300 surface feet per minute. The Franklin HD145 can be provided with several material handling packages from 300 lbs per foot, to 750 lbs per foot.
The CNC Beam Drill Line can be operated easily and Avenger operators are the ones who lay out the floor. You don't need any prior computer knowledge and are given full training at the time of installation.
The Advantage-2 is powered by 25 HP (18.5kW) Siemens spindle motors. It has 3 drill spindles each with 5-station tool changers. This drilling technology is extremely efficient and allows for maximum operating time and excellent drill hole quality.

5-Axis Renishaw Calibration – The calibration unit is a Renishaw model APCA45 with a modified spherical stylus. The device has a retractable cover and air purge to clear debris & dust during the activation process. It mounts to a swing arm controlled by a pneumatic rotary, so it is out of the way during regular operation and swings into the calibration position for calibration only.
Continuous production? Check. You can check. The ability to process a profile in record time with triple-axis drilling and milling is possible thanks to the use of three axes. High-speed Siemens spindle motors of 25 horsepower provide industry-leading hole penetration speeds. Additionally, each drilling axis employs ball screw feed positioning. The drill line boasts an advanced clamping system specifically designed to reduce vibrations. Extreme accuracy? Check.
The CNC Beam Drill Line works very well and Avenger operators were often the ones doing the layout. It is not necessary to have any computer knowledge. Full training is given at the time the installation is completed.

CNC-controlled programming allows beam drill lines to accurately drill holes in various steel profiles. These machines can be used to cut holes in a variety of steel profiles without the need for you to manually draw or lay out the positions.
Beams are designed to allow vertical deflections of no more than 1/180 (or 0.55%) of the horizontal beam length measured at the ends of beams.
Wood beam size for 25-foot span: As a general rule, the size of a wood beam or lumber joint should be 2x16. This is 16' from the centre of any residential building, projects, or construction. The beam's depth is 400mm (16'), and beam width is either 50 mm or 2.
Size of an LVL beam for a 20-foot span: As a general rule, a GLULAM or LVL should measure 10-12 inches in depth and 3 inches in width for a span of 20 feet. This means that a GLULAM or 10-12 inch GLULAM is required for residential buildings or projects.
To reduce the chance of the beam escaping from the concrete column, the development length is required. It acts as a support member for the reinforced beam within the concrete column.
